Most of commerce appeared to be transported by scooter. With a population of 92 million, Vietnam has 45 million registered motorbikes!
Hanoi is said to have 5 million bikes.
There is an intention to ban them by 2030 in order to reduce pollution and free up the congested roads.
Everything is carried on scooters, often less than 100 cc.Hot cycling and a welcome break for lunch.

The Vietnamese food was fabulous, though sometimes tricky for the vegetarians (bits of meat or shellfish snuck into spring rolls!).
It was very warm, ranging from 27-37' in the South.
Dave, from Leeds, knew many of our cycling friends. Was it remarkable coincidence or perhaps we're just a select group of nutters choosing the same quasi-masochistic trips?
